The Genshin Impact team is thrilled to start another year of adventures in Teyvat, and with the new year, we bring you Version 5.3, Incandescent Ode of Resurrection, launching on January 1, 2025. Get ready to battle the Abyss alongside Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, and Citlali in Natlan’s final showdown.
While Natlan prepares for its final war, Liyue celebrates the annual Lantern Rite with its own festivities. The update introduces a new character, Lan Yan, and several returning favorites ready to light up the night with Xiao Lanterns.

Incandescent Ode of Resurrection: The Final Battle
Prepare for the climax of the Archon Quest with Incandescent Ode of Resurrection. Join forces with Mavuika, Citlali, and other powerful warriors in a battle against the Abyss. The Traveler will also gain the Pyro element at a pivotal moment.
Additionally, the update introduces new bosses like the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker, a fast-moving opponent who creates clones in battle, and the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire, a formidable Abyssal Mimic Dragon.
New Playable Characters: Mavuika and Citlali
Two new 5-star characters, Mavuika, the Pyro Archon (Claymore user), and Citlali, the Cryo shaman (Catalyst user), are now available.
Mavuika: Her Elemental Skill summons All-Fire Armaments that deal continuous Pyro damage or transform into the Flamestrider, which deals AoE Pyro damage and boosts her Fighting Spirit for a powerful Elemental Burst. The Flamestrider also assists with exploration, allowing Mavuika to scale cliffs, glide, and move across terrain.
Citlali: As the most powerful shaman of the Masters of the Night-Wind, Citlali commands the power of the Nightsoul, creating shields and dealing Cryo damage with her companions, Itzpapa and Citlalin. Her Elemental Burst summons a Spiritvessel Skull, dealing AoE Cryo damage and restoring Nightsoul points.
New Character: Lan Yan
Lan Yan, a 4-star Anemo catalyst user from Liyue, is also making her debut. As an heir to the Qimen Arts, Lan Yan is a master craftsman with the ability to change her shield’s elemental type, absorbing and dealing Elemental DMG.
New Event Wishes
The first phase of Version 5.3 will feature Mavuika and Citlali as debut characters, while the second phase will bring reruns of Arlecchino and Clorinde, alongside Lan Yan. Players can complete special requirements in the Lantern Rite to recruit a free Liyue 4-star character.
